Because the patriarchy says that to be a āgood womanā we must be selfless.
We should ignore and lose ourselves entirely to make other people feel good.

Because of the Patriarchy.
The Patriarchy – and all other systems of oppression – want to keep us busy striving to be the their version of what a good person is.
And what does that do? It keeps us busy, tired, resentful, shattered, pliant and poor.
Because pliant, poor, tired people never challenged the status quo.
I donāt want you to be tired, poor, pliant friend!
I want you to be happy, relaxed, resourced, supported and living the life you want.
And how do you life the life you want?
Well first of all you gotta figure out what you want and give it to yourself – you gotta put yourself first.
The š„Me First Monthš„ is the first step in learning how to put yourself first in small ways every day.
